Grondona, who does not speak English, has no e-mail and has no interest in the internet world, no longer lives in a room without a refrigerator. He spends most of the year in the Savoy Hotel in Zurich, in a six-hundred-Euro room. Obviously, it is the FIFA who pays. For every day he spends outside Argentina he gets seven hundred dollars as travelling allowances. Not to mention the one hundred thousand dollars annual salary as a member of the FIFA’s Executive Committee.

Grondona ist auch der Mann, der dafür gesorgt hat, dass Maradona argentinischer Nationaltrainer wurde.
